A new jazz trio recording on Stockfisch: Pianist Sebastian Sternal, who 2007 moved for a year to Paris in order to study at the Conservatoire de musique, wrote pieces for this album as a tribute to this city. Together with Sebastian Klose (b), and Axel Pape (perc), the trio introduces a special guest from Paris: Anne-Marie Jean. With her versatile voice, she, as a Frenchwoman, lends a special authenticity to this city portrait.

Some years ago Chris Jones and Günter Pauler conceptualized the release of a Stockfisch-Christmas-CD. By and by recordings were made and stored - but the project was stopped abruptly by the death of Chris.

Now Eugene Ruffolo has accomplished this project: He gathered his favorite Christmas songs - some timeless standards, and a few unknown gems. Then he sat down and penned a few of his own - discovering that sometimes Even Santa Gets The Blues. The vinyl-edition is going to get out of print and a reprint of direct-to-disc vinyl is strictly unacceptable. Nevertheless this wonderfully swinging piano-trio highlight should be available in the future anyway.

Therefore Stockfisch Records releases the bassface swing trio recording as a separate Hybrid-SACD.

 • Direct-To-Disc 180g-Vinyl

The first vinyl release in 2007 will be a DMM-Direct-Cut-LP. We kept all recording paths, the mix and the signal path to the VMS-80 cutting lathe analog! the bassface swing trio played Gershwin - the same time the DMM was cut.

A few LPs are still available from the limited edition (2000 LPs, numbered and signed by hand). It comes with a SACD which also contains a CD-hybrid-layer.
