Sara K. is in a class all of her own. This singer is gifted with the rare ability of having an emotional grasp of the listener by virtue of her spontaneous and intensive aura that casts a spell on the listener. All her records have received several high-calibre awards, including a number of jazz awards.

This last album is surely one of her very best, maybe it is THE best. It is certainly no less than sensational. The album’s tracks are a quite delightful mix, perfectly balanced with one song especially outstanding in its beauty: „Made in the Shade“, devoted to Sara K.‘s fellow artist and kindred spirit Chris Jones who died some years ago.

Sara K. was invited by the German radio station mdr to play a radio concert in Leipzig, the city in Saxonia, where J.S.Bach lived and worked. On November 8, 2007 she performed a convincing solo concert, which Günter Pauler had been asked to record for broadcast.

As everybody was so happy with this performance, Stockfisch-Records decided to release this concert on CD: Sara K. - SOLO LIVE: 60 minutes, 14 tracks, Sara´s voice and her fourstring guitar!

hell or high water, Sara K.'s second album produced outside of the US is not only a brilliant poetic and musical achievement. It is a great sounding recording as well. This SACD/CD yields 10 previously unreleased songs, featuring the late Chris Jones on guitar and dobro.

The songs of this album once more open up Sara K.’s musical universe, or as you will: her soul. She is a brave woman and goes where ever she wants, taking the listener with her. For the former you need conviction, for the latter seduction. Her often imagistic lyrics are singular in their emotional intensity – easy to accept but strong in their content – a velvet hand in a boxing glove which would like to send you into the realm of dreams.

Folk-Pop, Jazz-Blues, Scat-Vocals and just a hint of avant-garde: Sara K., the singer-songwriter based in Santa Fe, New Mexico (originally from Dallas, Texas), has never paid much attention to musical 'borders'. With her excitingly expressive voice and 4-string (!) guitar, she occupies a niche that is no less unique than the stories she sings. Sara has lived these stories, is right in the middle of them and relates them from the heart – warm, personal and moving.

With this personal stamp, her musical and vocal versatility and the incredible warmth and clarity of her songs, Sara has created a fan-base in Germany that extends far beyond the borders of the guitar genre. In order to properly document the Nautilus-Tour in May/June 2002, Günter Pauler took along his "portable" studio – digital multi-track technology of the highest order, with which he recorded all 25 concerts. After listening to the tapes, the decision was unanimous – the concert in Erlangen’s City Hall on June 15th, 2002 topped them all. The performance, atmosphere and sheer energy that Sara and Chris presented here was simply overwhelming
